KMCT Group of Institutions successfully conducted International Conference on One Health: Threats, Trends, and Solutions on 10th December 2025.
KMCT Group of Institutions proudly inaugurated its newest endeavour, KMCT School of Design, the first institution of its kind in the Malabar region. The grand inauguration ceremony was graced by the presence of Dr. Shashi Tharoor, Honourable Member of Parliament, who officially declared the school open at the college campus. The event marked a significant milestone in KMCT’s journey of academic excellence and commitment to providing innovative educational opportunities.
During his address, Dr. Tharoor commended KMCT’s forward-thinking vision in establishing a dedicated design school, highlighting the growing demand for skilled design professionals across industries. He emphasized the critical role of design in shaping national development and branding, with India’s rich heritage in fields such as art, textiles, and jewelry serving as a strong foundation for future growth. He also underscored the importance of intellectual property rights (IPR), encouraging young designers to protect their creations and gain international recognition for their work.
Dr. Tharoor further spoke about the transformative role of artificial intelligence (AI) in modern design, emphasizing its potential to revolutionize traditional practices. He noted that the seamless integration of AI into design processes could lead to groundbreaking innovations, making production more efficient, dynamic, and impactful. This perspective highlighted the need for design students to stay abreast of technological advancements and embrace AI-driven solutions to stay competitive in the global market.
The inauguration event provided an exciting platform for student engagement, with an interactive session allowing them to connect with Dr. Tharoor. A notable moment was when Hana Abdul Kareem, a house surgeon at KMCT Dental College, presented two of her authored poetry books to him, showing the variety of talents nurtured at KMCT. The event also saw inspiring addresses from esteemed personalities such as Dr. K. Moidu, Founder Chairman of KMCT Group of Institutions; Dr. Navas KM, Chairman; Mr. Hashim Padiyath, Director of KMCT School of Design; and Mr. Aliasgar Chunawala, Assistant Professor. Their speeches, combined with the enthusiastic participation of faculty, staff, and students, made the event a resounding success and a stepping stone for the future of design education in the region.
