KMCT Group of Institutions has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IITM) under the SWAYAM Plus initiative of the Government of India. This partnership aims to strengthen digital learning and provide students with better access to quality education and skill development programs.
India is working to increase its higher education enrolment in the coming years. To achieve this, the government is focusing on using technology to provide equal learning opportunities for all students.
SWAYAM is an online learning platform by the Ministry of Education and it helps students across the country access quality courses from top institutions. It is especially useful for learners who may not have access to traditional education resources.
Under National Education Policy 2020, SWAYAM is being expanded through SWAYAM Plus. This new initiative focuses on industry-relevant courses that improve students’ job skills and employability.
SWAYAM Plus offers courses in many fields such as Manufacturing, Computer Science, IT, Management, Healthcare, Hospitality, Social Sciences, Media, Indian Knowledge Systems, among others.
Through this partnership, KMCT students will get access to high-quality courses at affordable costs. They will also benefit from job-focused programs, flexible learning options, and courses available in different languages.
The MoU was officially handed over by V. Kamakoti, Director of IIT Madras, to Dr. Abdul Gafur M, Principal of KMCT Institute of Emerging Technology and Management.
