KMCT National College of Pharmacy Becomes First in Kerala to Receive QCI A Grade

Continuing its commitment to excellence in pharmacy education and providing students with quality learning opportunities, KMCT National College of Pharmacy has secured A Grade in the QCI Assessment for Ranking and Accreditation of Colleges Running Diploma in Pharmacy. This recognition is yet another milestone for the institution, making it the first college in Kerala and the 13th in India to achieve this distinction.

The Quality Council of India (QCI) is an independent national body that evaluates institutions based on quality, standards and overall performance across sectors such as healthcare, education, and government services. The assessment involves document verification, digital and on-site inspections and a standardized evaluation process before awarding the final grade.

For pharmacy institutions, the assessment is carried out in line with the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) guidelines. The evaluation covers key areas including Curriculum and Teaching, Practical Training, Campus Environment, Research and Development, and Student Growth. Factors such as academic delivery, laboratory facilities, infrastructure, research output, innovation, placements and graduate outcomes are all considered during the assessment.

Established in 1996, KMCT National College of Pharmacy is the first institution under KMCT Group of Institutions. Starting with a Diploma in Pharmacy programme, the college has grown into one of Kerala’s leading pharmacy institutions, offering Diploma, B.Pharm, Pharm.D and M.Pharm, programmes. Over the years, the institution has built a strong reputation for academic excellence, clinical training, research and innovation.

The QCI A Grade adds to the institution’s growing list of achievements and highlights the standards it has maintained in pharmacy education over the years.
