KMCT Group of Institutions successfully conducted International Conference on One Health: Threats, Trends, and Solutions on 10th December 2025. The event was jointly organised by the Office of International Affairs and the Directorate of Research and brought together expert speakers from across the world.
The conference highlighted the importance of the One Health approach, an integrated framework that connects the health of people, animals, plants, and the environment. It emphasised how this collaborative model operates at local, regional, national, and global levels to address contemporary health challenges.
The webinar provided a valuable platform for participants to learn from leading scholars, understand emerging threats and global trends, and explore holistic solutions related to human, animal, and environmental health. Attendees also gained insights from interactive panel discussions, research insights, and opportunities for academic networking.
The event featured distinguished speakers from renowned institutions worldwide. These included Dr. Arun T. Remesh, Scientist C at ICMR National Institute for One Health, Nagpur, Dr. Muhammed Elayadeth Meethal, Research Fellow at the University of Melbourne, Dr. Deep Jyothi Bhuyan, Senior Research Fellow at Western Sydney University, Dr. Minoo Divakaran, Director (Research & Consultancy) at Providence Women’s College, Kozhikode and Dr. Anish T. S, Professor of Community Medicine and Nodal Officer at the Kerala One Health Centre for Nipah Research and Resilience. Each speaker shared insights on the global significance of integrated health approaches.
The inaugural ceremony was graced by Dr. Navas K. M., Chairman of KMCT Group of Institutions, Dr. Vijish Venugopal, Principal of KMCT Medical College and Chairman of the Directorate of Research, Dr. Santhosh V. C., Chief of International Affairs and Dr. Jayakrishnan T., Head of Community Medicine at KMCT Medical College, who addressed the gathering and emphasised the institutional commitment to global academic engagement.
The sessions covered a wide range of contemporary topics such as Zoonotic Spills: Pathways & Prevention, Postbiotics and Gut Health, Emerging Frontiers in Plant Diversity, and One Health - Threats and Preparedness: Kerala. These sessions provided deeper understanding of interdisciplinary challenges and potential solutions.
The webinar concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Mrs. Jereena, Deputy Chief of International Affairs, who acknowledged the contributions of the speakers, participants, and organising committee for making the event a success.
